2016

Azim Ousman first launched BENCCI in 2016 as a dropshipping business, driven by big dreams of making an impact in the fashion world and reaching customers in the US, UK, Canada, and beyond.

THE PANDEMIC

2019-2023

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Azim had to pause his efforts. Since then, he has dedicated himself to studying the fashion industry extensively, gaining insights and knowledge to prepare for the launch of his own brand in 2024.

THE EXPERIENCE

2014-2024

With Azim's background as a fashion advisor at Emporio Armani, six years in the retail industry in Dubai—including stints at Nine West, Charles & Keith, Aldo and Call It Spring—15 years as a music producer and mixing engineer, and experience in the airline industry with Qatar Airways, he has gained valuable insights into what artists and their fans are looking for.

FROM THE PROTOTYPE TO THE PRODUCT

2024 to Now

After years of research, Azim teamed up with leading manufacturers to launch BENCCI as Sri Lanka's first high-tech luxury streetwear brand, focusing on producers, video directors, influencers, artists, and their fans. He has already released a prototype to the public, featuring a photoshoot with the famous Sri Lankan rapper 'Maliya' from 'Rasthiyadu Padanama', as well as another photoshoot in New York with Nipuna Fernando, a music video director. More designs are currently in development, and the mission continues into 2025 and beyond.
